Recipe Summary

Easy to bake and delicious hot or cold

Ingredients :

  • 1 packet of ready made puff pastry, frozen is ok but defrost before unwrapping
  • 200 grams cooked chicken chopped into bite sized chunks
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 or 6 brocolli florets
  • 225 ml double (thick) cream
  • 100 grams tasty hard cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dried mustard, or made up mustard
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tblsp oil

Directions / Instructions :

  1. Steam the brocolli until cooked but not too soft, set aside, when cooled cut into small pieces
  2. Heat oil in a pan and cook the onion slowly until soft but not brown
  3. Stir in the cream with the mustard, paprika, salt & pepper, heat gently without boiling, add the cheese and stir to well combine until cheese melts
  4. Add the chopped chicken and broccoli, stir and set aside to cool
  5. Open pastry onto floured surface and roll so you have 4 equal squares approx 6 inches 15cms
  6. Place cooled chicken mixture in one half of each square, dampen edges with water then fold pastry over to make an oblong parcel shape, seal and crimp edges, make 3 small slashes on the top and place on baking tray, brush with milk or beaten egg and cook in hot oven, 190-200c for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and well risen

Variations :

You can use any meat, ham, bacon, or minced meat with other vegetables
